Knifeman threatens Southport shop worker, robs store
An armed robber broke into a store in Southport on Monday evening, holding a shop worker at knifepoint whilst demanding cash.
The masked knifeman targeted the First Stop Convenience store on Hampton Road at around 10pm on Monday evening, stealing £350 from the till before running away.
The perpetrator is described as a white male in his early 20's and is approximately 5'11 inches tall in height. It has also been noted that he was wearing a grey tracksuit with his hood up, black leather gloves, a black beanie, and black trainers.
Detective Inspector Catherine Walsh at Merseyside Police said: “To be threatened at your place of work is despicable and we will be working to ensure that we do all we can to find those responsible and put them before the courts.
“Did you see a man running away from the shop on Hampton Road or did you capture something significant on your dash-cam? I would ask you come forward with any information so that we can take action.”
Police also said that no-one was injured during the ordeal, and that CCTV and forensic enquiries are now being carried out.
