Man enters Tesco with knife, store evacuated
A Tesco store in Manchester was evacuated on Saturday afternoon after a man armed with a knife entered the premises.
Thomas Burrows, 46, of Victoria Avenue East had fled a property where there had been a disturbance, before storming into the Tesco store on the same street.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 3.35pm, and Burrows was eventually charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article, assault by beating, theft, as well as an offence under Section 4 of the Public Order Act.
Burrows has been remanded in custody and was due to appear at Manchester Magistrate's Court on 30th November.
